Shannyn J. Gillespie

Shannyn J. Gillespie (Coach Shannyn), current assistant coach at Lincoln College, a former U.S. Olympic Education Center Coach & USA Wrestling National Team Staff Coach, has an extensive background in High Performance Training & coaching teams at: 34 National Championships, 12 international tournaments & camps, 4 World Championships, & 1 Pan American Championship. He has also coached individuals to: 29 National Championship Gold medals, 14 World or Pan American medals, 5 USA Wrestling Outstanding Wrestler Awards, & 1 Olympic Bronze medal.

Coach Shannyn’s primary focus will be on training and developing coaches and student athletes via the U.S. Olympic Committee’s “5 Stages to a Better Sport Experience”:

Stage 1 – Discover, Learn & Play
Stage 2 – Develop & Challenge
Stage 3 – Train & Compete
Stage 4 – Excel for High Performance, Participate, & Succeed
Stage 5 – Thrive & Mentor

For his outstanding career as a coach & athlete, he was inducted to these Halls of Fame: Illinois Wrestling Coaches & Officials Association, Eastern Wrestling League, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, & Evanston Township High School. Coach Shannyn was also a U.S. Olympic Training Center resident athlete, an NCAA Division I All-American, & an IHSA State Champion.

Coach Shannyn and his wife Emily live in Chicago and have two daughters Jazmyn & Kayla.
