Lincoln College Defeats Harper College 50-3

The Lincoln College wrestling team wrestled their last home dual of the season on Thursday, January 26, 2017. The Lynx wrestled hard & smart against Harper College, winning their dual 50-3.

The Lynx started off the dual at 125 lbs. with DJ Millett getting a forfeit, followed by Jaime Valdez in the 133 lbs. weight class winning by decision and Christian Kanzler also receiving a forfeit at 141 lbs.

Ethan Reel wrestled next at 149 lbs. winning by technical pin followed by Alex Gonzalez pinning his opponent at 157 lbs.

At 165 lbs. Shaylan Loomis lost a close match 2-3.

Tyree Overton won by a pin in the 174 lbs. weight class and at the 184 lbs. weight class, Logan Hagerbaumer received a forfeit.

Daltyn Dodd, at 197 lbs., won a major decision, and at heavyweight, Mat Kent received a forfeit making the final score 50-3.

Head Coach Daryl Thomas commented on how the team competed , “The team responded well after the last dual against MacMurray.  We are excited about our opportunity to represent Lincoln College at Districts (the national qualifier) and then the NJCAA national tournament.”

Before the national qualifier and the national tournament, the Lynx will travel to the Harper Open at Harper College in Palatine, IL to compete Saturday, January 28, 2017.
