Lincoln College Grapplers Learn & Grow at the Joe Perisi Open
November 20, 2016

By LC Student Wrestling Manager Amber Bausch

The Lincoln College (LC) wrestling team traveled to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri to compete in the Joe Perisi Open on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Twelve members from the LC team and 4 coaches were on this trip.

The LC Lynx battled hard in this difficult tournament with the highest placewinners coming from LC sophomores Matt Kent & Logan Hagerbaumer who finished 4th & 6th respectively.

Head Coach Daryl Thomas commented that “this tournament was likely tougher than the NJCAA National tournament because of all the NCAA Division I, II, & III present.”  He went on to say, “this was a good early measuring stick to see where we’re at now and to see what we need to work on going forward”.

LC sophomore Hagerbaumer also suggested “I have a lot to work on…”.

The Lynx will recharge and travel to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, December 3rd in Somers, WI to compete at the Wisconsin Open.
