Millett, Reel win titles at Harper Open

The Lynx traveled to Harper College in Palatine, IL to compete in the Harper open on Saturday, January 28, 2017. The team as a whole showed up by bringing home 2 champions, 3 runners-up, & 6 place winners.

Lincoln College freshmen, DJ Millet wrestled Darvell Flagg (who is also a Lincoln College freshmen) in the finals. Millet beat team mate Flagg in a very close match (1-0) to win his first gold medal of the season.

Ethan Reel, a Lincoln College freshmen, won a gold medal at 149 lbs. by a technical pin. Reel is wrestling very well after coming back from knee surgery early in the season. This is Reel’s second tournament win of the season.

Darvell Flagg (125 lbs.), Christian Kanzler (141 lbs.) & Alex Gonzalez (157 lbs.) wrestled tough in their finals match and won silver medals.

Lincoln College Wrestling’s next competition will be the Central Districts on February 12th, at Harper College in Palatine, IL; this competition will be their national qualifier.
